Exploring structural changes of employment in rural Czechia: territorial approach
Čapkovičová, Andrea ; Jančák, Vít (advisor) ; Květoň, Viktor (referee) ; Konečný, Ondřej (referee)
The thesis searches for driving forces behind structural changes of rural employment in the example of Czechia subject to changing rural paradigm and the related question of rural economic viability represented by the employment performance. The research elaborates on the territorial approaches which categorises regions according to their degree of rurality. In addition, the detailed classification is made according to the change of non-agricultural employment in the period 2001-2011 in order to identify dynamic regions which showed performance above national average (leading) and those which lacked behind (lagging). The observations prompt the question why is the performance differentiated. Therefore, the regionally differentiated impact of processes such as deagriculturisation, deindustrialisation and tertiarisation in the period 2001-2011 is analysed by the use of analysis of components (namely shift-share analysis) and multivariate analysis (namely factor and cluster analysis). The thesis aims to provide answers in particular by giving a thorough analysis of how the changing rural paradigm (and regional theories in wider context) conceptualise the driving forces behind employment development in rural areas. The added value is in the analysis of interrelations and correlations of chosen...
Human heart valve allografts mechanical and morphological properties according to duration of tissue cryopreservation
Fiala, Radovan ; Burkert, Jan (advisor) ; Dominik, Jan (referee) ; Rosenberg, Josef (referee)
Background: The aortic and pulmonary allograft heart valves (AHV) are used in the cardiac surgery for replacing the impaired semilunar valves. They are harvested from donor hearts and cryostored in tissue banks. The expiration period was set to 5 years arbitrarily. We hypothesized that their mechanical and structural properties do not reasonably deteriorate after this period. Methods: A total of 64 human AHV (31 aortic and 33 pulmonary) of different length of cryopreservation (fresh, 0-5, 5-10, over 10 years) were sampled to different tissue strips (artery, leaflet, ventriculo-arterial junction, arterial ring) and tested by tensile test with loading velocity 10 mm/min until tissue rupture. Neighbouring regions of tissue were processed histologically and evaluated for elastin and collagen area fraction. The results were evaluated statistically. Results: In aortic AHV, the physical deformation response of wall samples to stress did not changed significantly neither during the process of cryopreservation nor during the first 10 years of storage. In pulmonary AHV, the ultimate strain dropped after 5 years of cryopreservation indicating that pulmonary artery was significantly less deformable at the time of rupture. On the other hand, the ultimate stress was equal during the first 10 years of...

Technical aspects of aortic root sparing surgery:Structural changes occurring during different thawingprotocols of cryopreserved human aortic root allografts and thereproducibility of external aortic root annuloplasty using Coroneo ring.
Novotný, Róbert ; Hlubocký, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vojáček, Jan (referee) ; Pirk, Jan (referee)
Aortic valve-sparing procedures treating patients with aortic root aneurysm with or without aortic insufficiency and patients with ascending aortic aneurysm and aortic insufficiency are no longer experimental and unproven procedures. A successful aortic valve-sparing or repair operation aims not only to correct the failing part of the aortic root but also to restore the intro- and the inter-component relationship of the aortic root elements to optimal dimensions and relations. The avoidance of anticoagulation therapy and prosthesis-related complications makes aortic valve repair a tempting procedure. Considering the increasing rate of cusp repair reported in scientific literature, conservative aortic valve surgery seems to be developing into aortic valve repair surgery. This Dissertation Theses are devoted to the study of some specific technical aspects of aortic root sparing surgery, namely to the study of structural changes occurring in cryopreserved human aortic root allografts and the reproducibility of Coroneo ring implantation procedure. The Introduction of these Dissertation Theses deals with the general review of aortic valve- sparing operations in the light of the historical aspects of used surgical technique, dynamic anatomy and the current situation. One part of the Introduction is...
The impact of structural changes on unemployment Kladensku
Vavrochová, Veronika ; Dobrylovský, Jiří (advisor) ; Breňová, Lubomíra (referee)
This thesis analyzes the impact of structural changes in the Kladno district. It aims to evaluate the impact of structural changes to the unemployment situation in the region, and if the region could solve these changes, or how to deal with them. The first one deals with theoretical concepts and approaches, followed by a brief outline of the historical development that led to structural changes. Followed by an analysis of the labor market and unemployment in the district of Kladno. Work gives a comprehensive view of the impact of structural changes in the unemployment rate within the region.
Structural unemployment in Karlovy Vary Region
Gruberová, Veronika ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with unemployment in the Karlovy Vary Region, and tries to identify the main factors that cause it. From comparison of regional values of selected macroeconomic indicators with average values for the Czech Republic came out that Karlovy Vary's region is significantly economically underdeveloped. The work compares the supply-side and demand-side of the regional labor market. The supply-side is characterized by gender, age and length of unemployment of job applicants. Special emphasis is put stress on the educational structure of persons registered at the Labour Office. The first part of the analysis of the demand side is focused on the development of employment in the sectors and branches of the national economy in order to trace and evaluate possible changes. The second section is based on analysis of vacancies accompanied by a survey carried out by regional employers . On the bases of evaluation of statistical data and received responses is confirmed that in the region there is a problem with a non-corresponding qualification and inadequate education of the population , which is one of the main factors negatively affecting the local labor market.
Human capital requirements in terms off the structural changes in the Czech Republic economy
Grušáková, Markéta ; Lapáček, Michal (advisor) ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (referee)
Nowadays there has been a great public and economic discussion about recent dynamics in the labour market in the Czech Republic. We enjoy a significant decrease in the rate of unemployment, some branches of the czech economy suffer from a qualified labour power deficiency. There are signals that educational and professional structure of unemplyed people do not meet the employers' demand for qualified workers. In the first, theoretic, part I classify sectors, branches and professions together with educational levels. I describe the theoretical backround of structural changes in the economy and its effects on the labour market. I focus also on an active employment policy. The second, practical, part examines how the educational level and qualiffication influence a possibility to acquire a job in The Czech Republic. I detaily focus on differences across regions in respect to acquired education. Further I analyze how former working experience influences a final decision about engaging the employee and if the current trend is to engage graduates or experienced employees. Another part of the labour market are labour offices and HR agencies. That is why I study the differences between these two institutions, especially the differences in their clientship, again in respect to acquired education. Final conclusion resulting from my findings illustrate the trends in the czech labour market according to the economic developement and continuing structural changes. Built upon my analysis I predict which occupations will enjoy a boom and which one starts to suffer a decline. Furthermore I suggest which educational branches support and which not because they produce a lot of not-engageable people.
